Digital Future Society
Shaping a fair and inclusive
digital transformation
We strategically advise this initiative of the Government of Spain and Mobile World Capital in its mission to connect academia, governments, businesses, and citizens to create collective knowledge and debate to address the challenges of the digital era.
The challenge
In an ever-evolving technological landscape, the imperative to chart our course and tackle the ethical, legal, and societal quandaries spurred by rapid digitalization has never been more pronounced.
In response, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation of the Government of Spain joined forces with Mobile World Capital Barcelona to introduce the Digital Future Society (DFS) initiative. DFS is a pioneering program dedicated to enlisting policymakers, civic society groups, academic leaders, and citizens in addressing the intricate challenges of the digital era. This mission encompasses rigorous research and knowledge generation on critical topics and convening national and international gatherings to elevate comprehensive dialogues.

Our approach
DFS entrusted Anteverti with a pivotal role, allowing us to provide strategic advisory services to deploy this initiative. Our contributions encompasses meticulously curating annual events and summits, shaping their titles and discourse narratives, facilitating the participation of esteemed national and global experts, and crafting the structure of sessions and debates.
Furthermore, we have helped in nurturing multi-stakeholder participation processes promoted by DFS with the aim of fostering robust debates and knowledge-sharing pertaining to the multifaceted challenges ushered in by the digital age. These have addressed issues such as digital divides, the relation between humanity and machines, the role of technology in sustainability, and the societal ramifications of emerging digital media.
The impact
Since our collaboration with DFS started in 2019, the initiative has promoted periodic, impactful events that have resonated deeply within engaged communities and target audiences. These gatherings have brought together political and thought leaders, as well as representatives from the private sector and civil society
Noteworthy examples include the inaugural Summit held during the Smart City Expo World Congress 2019 and subsequent annual summits like ‘Building Trust in the Digital Sphere,’ ‘Digital Emergency in a World of Accelerated Digitalization,’ and ‘Humanism in the Digital Age’ at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. We have also helped DFS in shaping the 2022 OECD Digital Economy Ministerial Meeting, an assembly that united Ministers, policymakers, business leaders, technical experts, and civil society representatives from nearly 40 countries in Gran Canaria.
Renowned figures such as Yuval Noah Harari, Carissa Véliz, Rafael Yuste, Renata Ávila, and Ricardo Baeza-Yates have lent their expertise, inspiring collective reflection to tackle the social, ethical and legal challenges arising from the ongoing digital revolution.
